ROCHDALE patients who miss dental appointments are costing the taxpayer seven hundred thousand pounds a year. Last year, about 10 per cent of appointment slots at surgeries were left unused despite being booked by patients. Now the Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale PCT is working with Perfect Circle to launch a tough campaign in a bid to stop the practice and enable more patients to access NHS treatment.
Under the Use It, Don’t Lose It! scheme, patients can be struck off their dentists register if they miss two appointments without sufficient warning. The campaign went live this week and will run for 4 weeks, the method mix on this campaign involves some some pretty unique forms of communication, which we’ll update you on shortly via case study overview.
